1. Introduction

Kruva LLC ("Kruva," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Kruva mobile application, our website at kruva.app, and any related services (collectively, the "Services").

By creating an account or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services. This Policy does not cover third-party websites or services we may link to; their practices are governed by their own policies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide our Services.

Information you provide directly

  • Account details — first name, last name, email address, and mobile phone number. Your phone number is used to verify your identity by SMS one-time passcode (see Section 4).
  • Profile information — display name and optional profile picture.
  • Game and session data — player names you enter, scores, match results, court assignments, and standings.
  • Communications — feedback or support requests you send us (for example, through our support form or by email).

Information collected automatically

  • Device information — device type, operating system, and app version.
  • Crash and diagnostic data — error logs that help us identify and fix bugs.

Information we do not collect

Kruva does not collect your precise geolocation, does not collect payment or financial information, and does not use third-party advertising trackers or social media tracking pixels.

What other users can see: Your display name and game results are visible to other players in your group session. Your email address, phone number, and login credentials are never visible to other users.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your Kruva account;
  • Verify your identity and secure your account by sending a one-time passcode (OTP) to your mobile number;
  • Run group sessions, track scores, and generate live standings and statistics;
  • Save and sync your games so you can resume them across devices;
  • Respond to your support requests and feedback;
  • Improve the app through diagnostics and crash reports;
  • Comply with applicable laws and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. SMS / Text Messaging

Kruva sends SMS text messages for one purpose: account verification and authentication. When you register or sign in, you enter your mobile number and request a verification code; we then send you a one-time passcode (OTP) by text. By entering your number and requesting a code, you consent to receive that automated verification message.

  • Message types: account verification / two-factor authentication codes only. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
  • Message frequency: messages are sent only when you request a code; frequency varies with your activity.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Help & opt-out: reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. Because these texts secure your account, opting out may prevent you from signing in. For assistance, email support@kruva.app.
No sharing of mobile information. We do not share or sell your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers your verification codes on our behalf (see Section 9), solely to provide the verification service. No mobile opt-in data is shared with any third party for any other purpose.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses only essential cookies and similar technologies required for the site to function and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or social media tracking pixels, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.

The Kruva mobile app stores data locally on your device (so it works offline) and syncs it to our secure cloud database; it does not use web advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.

6. Analytics & Diagnostics

We use limited, privacy-respecting diagnostics to keep the app reliable — primarily crash and error reporting through our app platform (see Section 9). This data helps us find and fix bugs. We do not use third-party advertising analytics, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

7. No Sale of Data, No Ads, No Social Integration

We want to be explicit: Kruva does not sell or rent your personal information; we do not display third-party advertising; we do not collect payment information; and we do not integrate with social media platforms or use social login. Your data is used to run the Services for you — nothing more.

8. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

Service providers

We share data with trusted vendors who process it on our behalf to operate the Services (see Section 9). They may access only the data needed to perform their function and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information when required by law — for example, in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or government request — or when we have a good-faith belief it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Business transfers

If Kruva LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

With your consent

We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

9. Service Providers

We rely on the following third-party providers to deliver the Services. Each processes data only as needed to perform its function, and none uses your data for its own marketing:

  • Supabase — secure cloud database and authentication. Stores your account, profile, and game data, protected by row-level security so each user can access only their own data.
  • Twilio — SMS delivery. Transmits the one-time verification codes to your mobile number on our behalf.
  • Expo / Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution, over-the-air updates, and crash reporting.

As stated in Section 4, your mobile number and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with any third party for marketing.

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain it longer to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud. Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained for product improvement.

11. Managing Your Data

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — update your name, profile picture, and contact information in the app.
  • Deletion — request permanent deletion of your account and data by emailing support@kruva.app.
  • SMS opt-out — reply STOP to any verification text (see Section 4).
  • Portability — request an export of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.

12. Children's Privacy

Kruva is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@kruva.app and we will promptly delete it.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (TLS/HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls (row-level security) that limit who can access personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of a qualifying breach as required by law.

14. International Users

Kruva is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

15. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to opt out of its sale (note: Kruva does not sell personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. The categories we collect are personal identifiers (name, email, phone number), internet activity (app usage and diagnostics), and game/play history. To submit a request, email support@kruva.app; we will respond within 45 days of a verifiable request.

16. EEA / UK Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Services), your consent (for SMS verification), and our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services). To exercise these rights, email support@kruva.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

17. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy at kruva.app/privacy, update the "Last updated" date, and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
